Fisher Library, Camperdown campus, and Health Sciences Library, Cumberland campus, have assistive technology rooms containing specialist computer hardware and software that can help you access course content and other materials to carry out your studies and research.
For access to these rooms, get a security swipe card from the University's Disability Services.
Law Library, St. James campus has a computer loaded with assistive technology software.

Fisher Library assistive technology rooms
There are two rooms, one on Level 3, the entry level to Fisher Library and one on Level 1.
The Level 3 room is to
the right of the loans desk, past the lifts, and then right,
down the corridor. The room is directly in front
of you, towards the right. It contains:
Software:
- Voice Recognition: Dragon Naturally Speaking 8
- Screen Reading: JAWS 7
- Screen Magnification: ZoomText 9
- Word Prediction: Co:Writer 4000 with 'write out-loud' feature
- Scanning, Reading and Studying: Kurzweil 3000, available on two PCs with attached scanners
- Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader, Endnote, Internet Explorer
Hardware:
- Five PCs
- One eMAC
- myReader 2: CCTV magnifier with text capture function
- SmartView: CCTV magnifier
- SARA: Scanning and reading appliance
- 2 x Scanners: Hewlett Packard 5590 ScanJet
- Networked laser printing facilities are available

Level 1 room contains:
- PC with Microsoft Office software and Dragon Naturally Speaking 8 voice recognition software

Health Sciences Library special study room
The room is next to the photocopy/printing room in the library. It contains:

Using these rooms for exams
Academic staff are responsible for ensuring that proper facilities and conditions are in place for your examinations. They should contact the Exams Office or Disability Services.
