Borrowing at another Australian university

University Library Australia (ULA) allows you to obtain a library card at any participating library. For a list of participating libraries see the ULA web site.

You are responsible for following the rules and regulations of any library you wish to use.

Fees and charges

Most ULA libraries charge students $50.00 (this is paid to the library you wish to use). Cards for university staff are usually free. Contact the library you wish to use for more information.

You will be liable to pay fines or costs incurred for loans that are returned late, lost or damaged. You may be suspended from library services at your own university if you have overdue items or are in debt to another library.

Library cards

Apply directly to the University library you wish to use, providing suitable photo identification and proof of current enrolment/employment (ie. your staff or student ID card).

Library cards are valid to 28 February of the following year.

Please check the loan periods and borrowing rules when you apply, and notify them if you change your address or contact details, or you lose your card. You are responsible for all items borrowed on your card.

Students and staff at other universities who wish to borrow at the University of Sydney should see Cards for information on how to apply and loan conditions.
