Using EndNote in Word
You can use EndNote functions in Word in either of two ways:
- Through the EndNote toolbar in Word >
- Through Word by selecting Tools > Endnote X1 > menu.
You may need to first associate EndNote X1 with Word in order to use the EndNoteX1 functions.
Cite While You Write(CWYW)
Cite While You Write gives you access to EndNote references and formatting commands with
either an EndNote X1 submenu in Word.
Access the EndNote X1 menu in Word
- Tools > Endnote X1
- The EndNote X1 drop-down menu displays.

Display the EndNote toolbar in Word
- In Word, View > Toolbars > select EndNote X1
The EndNote toolbar lets you click buttons to choose EndNote functions in Word.
