Saving References to Import | Filter File | Importing References into EndNote using a filter file | Direct Export

Saving references as text file for import into EndNote:

Once you have done your AUSTLIT search:

  1. Format marked records as Tagged Text
  2. Click Show and then copy and paste into a Word document. Save it as a text file.
  3. from which it can be imported into the Endnote library using the newauslit01 filter.

Download the AUSTLIT EndNote filter from http://www.AUSTLIT.edu.au/about/taggedFormat

As this file was written for a PC, Mac users should first use the University of Maastrich EndNote conversion utility http://mac.unimaas.nl/EndNote.html to convert this to a Mac-compatible format)

Importing references into EndNote using a filter file:

  • Open Endnote
  • File>Open
  • Choose a reference library in the Select a Reference Library window.
  Select an Endnote Library  

  • Click Open.
  • File > Import…
  • At Import Data File click Choose File and browse to the downloaded text file of references you wish to import.
  • At Import Option choose the appropriate database filter. If the filter does not appear on the picklist, click Other Filters....

  • The Filter Manager opens.
  The Import Filter opens  
  • Browse to newAUSTLIT01, Highlight and Choose
  Select newauslit01 filter  
  • Click Import to import the references into your Endnote Library.
  click Import to import references  
  • Check the imported references to verify they have been imported correctly.

Direct export of references with EndNote:

Not supported by this database.
