Saving References to Import| Importing references into Endnote using a filter file| Filter File| Direct Export

Saving the references for import into Endnote using a filter:

  • Search the ACM Digital Library.
  • Select the reference you want to import to Endnote by clicking on the title of the reference.
  • When the full details are displayed, look for Tools and Actions and click on EndNote.
  click Endnote to download the reference in Endnote format  
  • A new window will open, displaying the reference. Select the whole reference (Ctrl+A) and copy it (Ctrl+C) then close the window.
  • Open a new file in your word processor or text editor, and paste the reference into it (Ctrl+V).
  • Continue adding further references to this file, leaving a blank line between references.
  • Save the file as Text Only (*.txt).
  • If you are using Word, close the file before importing.

Importing references into Endnote using a filter file

  • Open EndNote and the library where you want to store the references. Select File, then Import...
    • For Import Data File, click Choose File.When you have located the text file you have saved, select it and click Open.
    • For Import Option, select ACM Digital Library.
    • For Duplicates, select according to your preference
    • For Translation, select No Translation
  • Click Import

Filter file for ACM Digital Library:

ACM Digital Library uses the Endnote Import filter that comes installed with Endnote X.

Direct export of references into EndNote:
