Direct export of references into EndNote:

Direct Export is recommended for Business Source Premier. It can only be used when Endnote is installed on the computer that is used to search the database.

  • Perform your search
  • Select the references you wish to save by clicking on the add box to the right of each citation.
  • Click on the folder icon at the top
  • Click on export
  • Select the second option Direct export to Endnote, Procite, or Reference Manager
  • Click on save
  • Endnote will automatically open
  • The Select a Reference Library dialogue box will appear
  • Find the required library and click open
  • The references will be imported into your EndNote Library. Double click on any of the entries and check to see if all of the information has been imported into the correct EndNote fields and is complete. The date field is likely to need deletion or editing. Some forms of punctuation will not import properly and will need editing, eg apostrophes and dashes.
