Direct export of references into EndNote:
Direct Export is the only method of exporting references from the ScienceDirect databases into Endnote. It can only be used when Endnote is installed on the computer that is used to search an online database.
- Select your references then click Export citations

- The screen should now look something like the following:

- Under Content Format, select Citations or Citations + Abstracts
- Under Export Format, select RIS Format (for Reference Manager, Procite, EndNote)
- Click Export
- Your EndNote software will automatically be opened (if it is not already open), and you will see the Select a Reference Library dialogue box. Select the library, and the references will be immediately imported into it.
Saving references to import into EndNote:
Due to the configuration of the ScienceDirect database interface It is not possible to save references in a format suitable for import into Endnote. Nor is there an import filter available to import references into Endnote using an import filter.
