Direct Export | Saving References to Import | Importing references into Endnote using a filter file | Filter File

Direct Export

  • Do your search and select references by clicking the checkbox beside each one.
  • Select the download to citation manager option, and click Go.
  1 Select and download geoscienceworld citations  

  • On the Selected Abstracts screen, choose Download ALL Selected Citations to Citation Manager.
  2 Download citations from the abstract screen  

  • On the following screen, click on the EndNote link on the left hand side of the page.
  3 Select citation managing program  

  • Click Open in the File Download dialog box.
  • EndNote will automatically open.
  • Browse to and select the correct Endnote Library.
  • The References will be exported into the Endnote library. Other references are temporarily hidden. Reference>Show All References to reveal all references in the library.

Saving references to import into EndNote:

  • Do your search and select references by clicking the checkbox beside each one.
  • Select the download to citation manager option, and click Go.
  1 Select and download geoscienceworld citations  

  • On the Selected Abstracts screen, choose Download ALL Selected Citations to Citation Manager.
  2 Download citations from the abstract screen  

  • On the following screen, click on the EndNote link on the left hand side of the page.
  3 Select citation managing program  

  • Click Open in the File Download dialog box.
  4 Download references in text file format  

  • Click Save.
  • Name the file and ensure it is saved in .txt format.

Importing references into EndNote using an import filter

  • Open EndNote
  • File > Open
  • Choose a reference library in the Select a Reference Library window.
  Select an Endnote Library  

  • Click Open.
  • File > Import…
  • The Import dialog box opens:
  • Click Choose File and browse to the downloaded .txt file of references you wish to import.
  • At Import Option choose the Endnote Import filter.
  • Select Duplicate option.
  • Click Import.
  • The references will be imported into your Endnote library. Check the references to ensure the data has been imported correctly.

GeoScienceWorld used the Endnote import filter that comes installed with Endnote X.
