Using databases

Ei Engineering Village - Compendex and Geobase

Direct export

Once you have logged into Compendex or Geobase and performed a search to your satisfaction, you need to select and save your references. Citations are shown in lots of 25. Use the drop down menu to select the next 25 when you are ready to do so.

  • Select citations by ticking the boxes (or click Select all on page)
  • In the Results Manager box choose the format (Citation, Abstract or Detailed Record) and click Download:

  • In the Download Selected Records window Select RIS, EndNote, Procite, Reference Manager format and click Download:
  Select download format  

  • Endnote will automatically open.
  • Choose a reference library in the Select a Reference Library window.
  Select an Endnote Library  

  • Click Open.

Note: only the newly added references will be displayed at first. To view the complete EndNote library, click References > Show All References.

Saving references as text file for import into EndNote

Not recommended with this database.
