Entering references
Adding a web archive (.mht) file to an EndNote reference
To save a copy of a web page you are viewing, use the Internet Explorer 7 File > Save as command to save the page as a Web Archive, single file (*mht). The saved .mht file can then be added to an EndNote Reference in the Link to PDF field.
- In Internet Explorer 7 open the web page that is to be saved.
- File > Save as.
- Enter a file-name.
- Save as Type: Web Archive, single file (*.mht).

- Open EndNote.
- Open the required library.
- References > New Reference.
- Change Reference type to Web Page.
- Enter the details of the reference.
- References > File Attachments > Attach File....
- Browse to and select the web archive file.

- Open.
- The web-page archive can be viewed by double-clicking on the Internet Explorer Icon in the EndNote reference.
Note: The web archive is a representation of a web page saved at a specfic point in time. Therefore, as time passes links may begin to not work.
