How do I insert a bibliography at the end of a multi-chapter document?
- Open Word.
- Create a Word document for each chapter.
- Insert references into each document. If Endnote instant formatting is enabled, disable it and un-format the document.
- Create a new Word document (this is called the master document).
- View>Outline.
- Create a Subdocument for each chapter.
- Click in the Subdocument field.
- Insert>File.
- Browse to the document that is to be inserted, select it, then click Insert.
- Repeat for each of the chapters that are to be inserted into the master document.
- When you have finished inserting chapter documents, position the cursor where the bibliography is to be located.
- From the Endnote 9 tool-bar, click Format bibliography.
The bibliography may need to be re-formatted to match the font and type size used in the rest of the document. Use the Format Bibliography Layout Tab to do this.
