How to add a link to a website
To link a reference to a Web site

- simply type the URL into the Reference Window's URL field. Use the following format: http://setis.library.usyd.edu.au/adt/ or http://www.library.usyd.edu.au/databases/ (http://www.library.usyd.edu.au/databases/endnotex/)
- EndNote will underline it and change the colour of the URL to indicate that it will function as a clickable link to the web site.
To link to a file on your own computer
For Endnote X1, this function has been renamed as File Attachments.
With the References > Link to command, you can link an EndNote reference to a file on your computer. (For example, you may choose to add a link to an electronic journal article that you have downloaded.) The location of the file is noted in the URL field. The Open link command can then be used to open that file when you have the reference selected or open.
