Getting started
Creating a Library
To start with EndNote, you must first create a Library. Once this is done, you can begin adding references to it.
- The Library is the EndNote term for the files in which you store your references, in much the same way as you would put documents in a folder.
- There is no limit to the number of libraries you can create.
- There is no limit to the number of references that you can store in each library. To maintain efficient performance, the producers recommend that you do not exceed 100,000 records.
- Libraries consist of a library file (yourlibraryname.enl) and a DATA folder (yourlibraryname.Data). the DATA folder includes copies of PDF's, term lists, and images used in your library. These will need to be compressed when moving the library to another computer.
