Reserve - course readings
Course readings are put on Reserve in both electronic and print formats. Not all courses
have material available electronically.

How do I find Reserve items in the catalogue?
Your lecturer may link to Reserve items directly from WebCT, or tell you to look them up in the Library catalogue:
- Go to the University of Sydney Library Homepage, http://www.library.usyd.edu.au
- Click Catalogue:
- For a list of Reserve items, search the online catalogue by Unit of Study, Course Code, or Lecturer Name.
- Find individual articles with a Title search.
To search by Unit of Study, Course Code, or Lecturer Name:
- Click the Reserve tab:
- A Unit of Study search is pre-selected.
- Enter the course name: eg. Renaissance and Reformation 1498-1648, or enter the course code, eg ARHT 1001
- The course record will be opened listing all items attached to that course.
- Click on the record (i.e. the blue underlined title) you require.
- The full record for the item displays. Click on the link "Connect to the fulltext"
- The fulltext of the document will open on the screen in PDF (Adobe page image) format. It can be read on screen or printed with the Acrobat Print button.
OR
- Click the Lecturer link to search by Lecturer Name.
- Type the name in this format: Lastname, Firstname.
- The Lecturer's course(s) will be displayed
- Click the course you require
- Reserve items for that course will be displayed.
To search by article title
- Click the Title tab .
- Enter the title of the article
- (Note: leave out "The" , "A" or "An" at the beginning of title)
- The catalogue record of the article will display on the screen
- Click on the link "Connect to the fulltext"
- The fulltext of the document will open on the screen in PDF (Adobe page image) format. It can be read on screen or printed with the Acrobat Print button.
Problems accessing the electronic full-text from off-campus?
- To view electronic Reserve items off-campus, you will need to login with the Reserve login details:

As electronic Reserve items are displayed in PDF format, you may need
to download and install the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to view a
document. Downloading instructions are available at;
