Why isn't the book on the shelf?
The online catalogue contains detailed information about the location of books in the Library. The Library is made up of several libraries and collections. Make sure you are looking in the right library or collection. The Status of the book in the catalogue also tells you if the book is out on loan and other information. Ask Library staff for help if you still cannot find an item on the shelves. You can fill in a 'Missing Item Report' and we will contact you when the item is found.
The catalogue says "Check Shelf" but the book is not there.
There are many reasons why the book may not be on the shelf, but still within the Library - someone may be using it, photocopying from it, or about to borrow it. Also it may be recently returned and waiting to be reshelved. Have another look in a couple of days to see if the book has been put back, if not ask Library staff for help.
What exam papers do you have?
The Library receives some exam papers, which are available as PDF files on our web site. Not all exam papers are available.
