To find a journal by title on the Library Catalogue

To find journals by subject on the Library Catalogue:

Go to the Library Catalogue.
Select "Subject" from the catalogue menu bar.
Type in the subject heading plus the word periodicals, e.g. "city planning periodicals" and click on Search.

To find electronic journals or texts on the Library Catalogue:

You can limit a journal search to electronic journals by selecting "electronic journals" from the drop down menu next to the search button.
Or you can do a keyword search using the "electronic journals". Please see the following helpscreen for details

How do I get access to these journals from my computer at home or at work?

Very few of our online journals are available by password, but there are other ways of establishing off campus access.

Tips:

Not all journals listed in the library catalogue are current subscriptions.
Most electronic journals are of recent origin. Access is generally begins in the late 1990's.
For print journals you can see from the LIB HAS field in the record how much of a journal we have and when we stopped receiving it. A dash at the end of the LIB HAS information indicates a current subscription.
For electronic journals, the link will tell you when the access began, and if relevant, when access ceased.
