Burkitt-Ford Library Facilities

The Burkitt-Ford Library is open to staff and students of the University of Sydney. Students of other universities and members of the public are welcome to visit the Library.

Computer access

Wireless access is available in the Burkitt-Ford Library if you wish to use your own laptop. Click here for help with setting up wireless access.

To access our computers you need to log in with your full barcode number which is on your student card, staff card or library card.

To cater for library users who only want to do a quick search we set aside one computer which does not require a login at all. This is the first computer from the left, and it can only be used to search the catalogue for up to 5 minutes at a time.

The second computer from the left is for our visitors and guests. There is a 30 minutes time limit on this computer.

Information from databases and the Internet can be printed on our networked printer, or saved to USB flash drives. You will need to bring your own USB drive.

Photocopying

There are 3 black and white photocopiers available for use by Library clients, copies cost 11 cents per page.

You will need to use a copy card. We do not have coin operated copiers.

Any card with a magnetic strip such as yout student card, staff card, Medicare card or a credit card can be used as a copy card. You can add value to a card in the Burkitt-Ford Library.

Printing

Black and white single sided printing from public computers is available in the Burkitt-Ford Library at a cost of 11 cents per page. You can use the same card for printing and copying in all University of Sydney libraries.

Group study room

The Burkitt-Ford Library has a group study and discussion room for the use of students and staff.
