Help with audio streaming

What are Audio files?

  • They are MP3 files streamed under licence from University of Sydney Library sound recordings
  • For other streamed resources see Naxos, and Classical Music Online databases

How do I access the files?

  • Audio files are found via the library catalogue
  • Click here for help Searching for Sound Recordings, including audio files of set works on Unit of study readings.

What do I need?

  • Flash player - free download available is available at Adobe Flashplayer
  • Good quality headphones

Something to note

  • Safari as a default will open audio files in iTunes. When accessing streamed audio files check that iTunes is not set as the default player.

iPHONES and related devices

  • Audio files from our catalogue and databases are not accessible via iPhones. Access via other similar devices may be possible.
  • The University does not offer I.T. support for these devices.

Poor sound quality Sound quality depends on quality of headphones or speakers You may need to upgrade headphones or speakers
I can't access MyUni   Check with ITAssist by calling 93516000 or going to an access lab on campus. At the Conservatorium Library use the Helpdesk phone in the Access Lab area.
I can't access the library site from the University homepage. The library server may be down.

Look for a message about outages on the Sydney University Library homepage.

 
I can get into the Library catalogue but when I click on the link to the CD I get a blank screen. The Conservatorium streaming server is possibly down.

Reporting Problems

Report all problems to the Conservatorium Library by emailingcon.library@sydney.edu.au


Please provide the following details when reporting problems:

  • Name and contact details
  • Location of computer (Home, Library, or Access lab workstation))
  • Operating system (e.g. Windows XP or Mac OS10)
  • Browser (e.g. Safari 1.2, IE 7.0)
  • Exact nature and details of the problem
  • Quote any error messages
