Participant Information Statement
Title: Pre-service Teacher Education Student Expectations of the University of Sydney Library, especially in relation to Professional Experience and formation of appropriate pedagogical practice
Helping the staff of the University of Sydney Library better meet the needs of you as students in the Faculty of Education and Social Work who are studying to be teachers, by getting a clearer picture of what your expectations are of the services offered to support your study at University and in the practicum classroom
(2) Who is carrying out the study?The study is being conducted by Jacqueline Hicks, Faculty Liaison Librarian, Pre-service and Curriculum Education
(3) What does the study involve?The study requires you to complete an anonymous questionnaire.
(4) How much time will the study take?The questionnaire will take 5 to 10 minutes to fill in online.
(5) Can I withdraw from the study?Participation in this study is entirely voluntary: you are not obliged to participate and - if you do participate - you can withdraw at any time without prejudice or penalty. This is a confidential process and completely governed by your willingness to participate.
(6) Will anyone else know the results?Only the researchers will have access to information and all information will be anonymous and confidential.. It is intended that a report of the study may be submitted for publication, or may be presented as a conference paper, but it is guaranteed that individual participants will not be identifiable in such a report. Any information from the study will only be used to assist development of services, and to initiate discussion with stakeholders in a professional fashion with no identifying information.
(7) Will the study benefit me?The study will greatly assist the Library in ensuring that we deliver the best possible support throughout your studies, maximising resources, and making the most of limited funding.
(8) Can I tell other people about the study?Yes, you may discuss the study with anyone if you wish to do so.
(9) What if I require further information?When you have read this information, the researchers or a research assistant will be happy to discuss it with you further and answer any questions you may have.
