Document Delivery / Interlibrary Loans for the Faculty of Dentistry
Through this service the University of Sydney Library will obtain for you books and journal articles held at a University of Sydney Library on another campus or not held at a University of Sydney Library.
Eligibility
Faculty of Dentistry staff, post-graduate students, honours students, Dental Program students (years 3 or 4 only)
Registration
You must register for this service (choose Dentistry Library as your home library). To register, login to MyLibrary and then click on the link "Register here" link.
Requesting
To obtain books and journal articles, login to MyLibrary and then click on the link "Request items from Document Delivery."
Delivery of Articles
- Wherever possible articles will be delivered electronically via the Ariel system to the email address provided by the requestor.
- Honorary Academic Staff who are not physically based within a department may elect to receive their articles by post at another address.
Delivery of Books
Books are charged out on your Library card and may be collected from the library at the hospital in which you are based:
- At Sydney Dental Hospital, this is the University of Sydney Dentistry Library.
- At Westmead Hospital, this is the Westmead Hospital Library
Return of Books
Books can be returned to any University of Sydney Library where they will be checked in promptly. Teaching hospital libraries will not accept the return of University of Sydney Library books. Please note that Westmead Hospital Library is not a University of Sydney Library.
Books may also be returned via the Westmead Hospital mailroom but please note the following conditions:
- Books need to be packaged appropriately and clearly labelled with: "Dentistry Library, Sydney Dental Hospital."
- Please alert mailroom staff that it is a "Sydney Dental Hospital" mail item.
- Please allow 3 days for the item to reach SDH where the book will be checked in.
- Normal library fines will apply for items received late.
