Library Cards

The only requirement for using library services is that you have a current University of Sydney Library borrowers card.

• Enrolled students receive a student card which doubles as a library card.


• Staff on the University payroll are registered if they have a library card or the new University staff card. These cards are currently being produced by the University Card Centre. For more information on staff library cards.


• Staff who work for the Faculty in an honorary capacity and are not on the University payroll need to apply for a library card. Link to information and the application form for title holders and honorary staff.

Borrow from other university libraries

If you live outside the Sydney metropolitan area we encourage you to use your hospital library or any other University Library that may be close to you.

To use another University Library, go to the University Library Australia National Borrowing Scheme for students and staff page. This will give information on applying for cards at other participating institutions.
