Lind, James, 1716-1794
An essay on diseases incidental to Europeans in hot climates: with the method of preventing their fatal consequences.
London : Printed for J. Murray, 1792.
5th edition
This book on "hot climates" reflects the limited recognition of the importance of vector borne infection amongst other environmental causes of disease affecting troops serving abroad. Nevertheless its recommendations about hygiene were a great step towards reducing the mortality and morbidity in British outposts in the West Indies.
