An article appearing in the Australian New Crops Newsletter, Issue 7, January 1997 entitled Mechanising coffee harvesting in Australia. The newsletter is a publication of the New Crops Program at the School of Agriculture and Horticulture (formerly the School of Land and Food), University of Queensland Gatton. This article deals with the development of the coffee harvester in Queensland. This development has been the catalyst to large-scale commercial production on the Atherton Tablelands.

New rural industries: a handbook for farmers and investors: coffee
This web page is the coffee chapter of RIRDC's (Rural Industries Research & Development Corporation) publication that gives comprehensive coverage on nearly 100 new rural industries. The chapter was written James Drinnan, a Senior Horticulturist with the Queensland Department of Primary Industries and David Peasley, a Horticultural Consultant who has worked for 10 years to develop a coffee industry in northern New South Wales. Information includes varieties, production, control of pests and diseases, marketing and the economics of production.

This web site was developed as a resource for coffee professionals and focuses on a scientific approach to understanding the facts and techniques of coffee production. All material has been written and researched by Michael Griffin. Subject coverage is comprehensive and ranges from agriculture, classification, blending, politics, trade and market statistics. The links button of the website has contact details for growers, suppliers, scientific research organisations and companies associated with the industry. A virtual tour of coffee processing, videos and a picture gallery (which requires a name and email address for access) have been included. As well as lists of publications and courses available both in America and internationally.

This thesis was written by Michael J. Griffin and funded by Davidson College and the Specialty Coffee Institute. It is presented as a PowerPoint presentation and deals with the relationship between phosphate concentration and perceived acidity in coffee and the means of detecting and verifying the source of adulteration in coffee samples.

Sustainable Coffee Project
The Sustainable Coffee Project was developed by The Conservation Agriculture Network (CAN) to provide market incentives for the conservation of forested coffee farms. CAN is an agricultural certification program managed jointly by the Rainforest Alliance and a network of Latin American conservation groups committed to community-based conservation initiatives and research.
