The purpose of this guide is to provide useful resources for finding information on Australian listed and private companies.

Listed or Public Company Annual Reports

Annual Report Collection (Connect 4)
Full-text database of the annual reports of the top 500 publicly listed Australian companies. Provides reports for 1992 to date. Includes both the text and financial statements.

Fin Analysis (Aspect Huntley)
Fin Analysis provides a 12-year history of detailed financial information for all companies listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. Detailed financial information is also available for delisted companies. Comprehensive financial breakdowns are available in Excel format and original company reports are available in PDF.

Company Prospectus (Connect 4)
Initial Public Offerings which have been lodged with the Australian Stock Exchange within a calendar year are provided from 1994 onwards. Also provided are all rights issues with a capital raising amount of $5M or greater. Successfully listed companies as well as withdrawn offers are included. This collection contains the full narrative of each prospectus and includes: The Corporate Directory, Review of Company Activities, Experts' Reports, Financial Statements, and Supplementary Information.

Company Research (Australia Stock Exchange)
The Australia Stock Exchange provides company and trading information for all listed companies, including share price, recent announcements, dividends, price history chart and other information.

Austrade (The Australian Trade Commission)
Click on the link Search for suppliers on the left hand column to search for companies in selected industries.

Kompass Australia
Globally, Kompass offers access to information on: 1.8 million companies, 750,000 trade & brand names, 3.6 million executive names. In Australia the database contains: 32,685 companies, 56,041 executive names. Company profiles are modified every year, although data content per company may vary and is dependent on information provided to Kompass by each company.

Business Source Premier
Ebsco's aggregation of business and management journals indexes and abstracts 3350 journals in nearly every area of business including management, marketing, economics, finance, accounting and international business. It provides full text of more than 2800 scholarly publications including the world's top management and marketing journals, many back to 1922 or the first issue.

Look at Company Profiles in the Browse section on the right hand side. This provides Datamonitor Reports for many companies both in Australia & overseas.

Australian Companies The Australia Stock Exchange (ASX)
The most up-to-date announcements, including price sensitive announcements, are available from the Australia Stock Exchange website.

Fin Analysis (Aspect Huntley)

This full text newspaper database provides news, commentary, pictures, company information and stock quotes. The database contains more than 8,000 overseas and Australian newspaper and newswire publications and more than 9,000 web sites. For Australian news sources, the Fairfax publications archive is 13-22 years [SMH 1986+, AFR 1982+] and the News Limited archive is 8 years [Australian 1996+]. Financial Performance & Market Data

Detailed financial information is also available for delisted companies. Result can be viewed in table or chart format and can be downloaded into MS Excel files.

The ASX website provides the latest company financial performance, share prices and all major market data.

View companies that have been removed from Australian Stock Exchange's official list during the last 6 months.

Unlisted or Private Company Information

An unlisted or private company is one that is not listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX). It may have share capital, with a membership of not less than 2 shareholders and not more than 50 shareholders but is prohibited from making an invitation to the public to subscribe to shares.
