This pathfinder is a guide on easily accessible web-based data resources for international organizations. These international organisations provide highly reliable data sources on various areas.


Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)
APEC is the premier forum for facilitating economic growth, cooperation, trade and investment in the Asia-Pacific region.
Free access to: key economic indicators; annual economic outlook; economic reports of the 21 country members and business resources.

Asian Development Bank (ADB)
ADB is a multilateral development finance institution dedicated to reducing poverty in Asia and the Pacific. Established in 1966, and are now owned by 63 members, mostly from the region.
Free access to: latest economic outlook, country economic reviews and country statistics.

Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations was established in 1967 and now with 10 country members from the region. The ASEAN region has a population of about 500 million, a total area of 4.5 million square kilometers, a combined gross domestic product of US$737 billion, and a total trade of US$ 720 billion.

Bank for International Settlements (BIS)
The BIS is an international organisation which fosters cooperation among central banks and other agencies in pursuit of monetary and financial stability.

Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC)
ECLAC is one of the five regional commissions of the United Nations. It was founded for the purposes of contributing to the economic development of Latin America, coordinating and reinforcing economic relationships among the countries and with the other nations of the world.

Europa (EU)
The Europa serves as an information gateway to European Union.
Free access to: comprehensive information of European Law, legal text, policy, statistics and latest development on 32 subject areas, e.g. external trade, fisheries, taxation, transport, agriculture...etc.

European Union (EU, EC) (EU)
The European Union (EU) is a union of twenty-five independent states based on the European Communities and founded to enhance political, economic and social co-operation. Formerly known as European Community (EC) or European Economic Community (EEC).
Access to: European Parliament, European Patent Office, European Central Bank and EURO,...etc.

Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges (FEAS)
The Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges (FEAS) was established in 1995 with 12 founding members; currently there are 28 members.
Free access to: yearbooks and semi annual reports which include official statistics of all member Exchanges, statistical comparision, consolidated statistics. Historical statistics are also available.

Federation of European Securities Exchanges (FESE)
The FESE is established to represent the interests of European securities exchanges as regulated markets.
Free access to: market data and statistics of Equities Markets, Bond Markets and Derivatives Markets. Data are available for downloading in PDF or Excel format.

International Monetary Fund (IMF)
The IMF is an organization of 184 countries, working to foster global monetary cooperation, secure financial stability, facilitate international trade, promote high employment and sustainable economic growth, and reduce poverty.

International Trade Centre (ITC)
The International Trade Centre (ITC) is the technical cooperation agency of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the World Trade Organization (WTO) for operational, enterprise-oriented aspects of trade development.

Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)
The OECD is a group of 30 member countries. Best known for its publications and statistics, its work covers economic and social issues from macroeconomics, to trade, education, development and science and innovation.
University of Sydney Library has subscribed to the Source OECD. The database Includes the full text of all OECD publications, such as OECD Economic Outlook, and OECD Economic Surveys. It also includes a range of OECD databases such as Main Economic Indicators, Main Industrial Indicators, National Accounts, Social Expenditure, Economic Outlook and many others.

United Nations (UN)
The Statistics Division of United Nations compiles statistics from many international sources and produces global updates.
Free access to: the Statistical Databases section provide access to economic & trade data. Registration is required for some databases. It also provides links to National Statistical Offices and International Statistics.

United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD)
United Nations Conference on Trade and Development aims to promote the development-friendly integration of developing countries into the world economy. The organization has been the focal point within the United Nations for the integrated treatment of trade and development and related issues in the areas of investment, finance, technology, enterprise development and sustainable development.

World Bank (WB)
It is a development Bank which provides loans, policy advice, technical assistance and knowledge sharing services to low and middle income countries to reduce poverty. World Bank collects and compiles a wide range of economics and financial data and statistics.

World Federation of Exchanges (world-exchanges)
The World Federation of Exchanges, formerly FIBV - International Federation of Stock Exchanges, is the trade organization for regulated securities and derivative markets, settlement institutions and related clearing houses, and their diverse services to capital markets.

World Trade Organization (WTO)
The World Trade Organization (WTO) is the global international organization dealing with the rules of trade between nations. The goal is to help producers of goods and services, exporters, and importers conduct their business.
