This pathfinder is a guide on easily accessible web-based resources for international trade and commodity data.
International Trade Statistics [World Trade Organization]
Free access to most up-to-date WTO trade statistics database and annual International Trade Statistics reports, including long-term trends, trade by region, trade by sector. Trade profiles and time series are also available by selecting Statistics Database. The Trade Profiles section provides predefined information leaflets on the trade situation of members, observers and other selected economies; the Time Series section allows an interactive data retrieval of trade statistics.

This resource provides country-specific business information and national trade performance. User registration is required for using TradeMap. General Trade Data by Product and Country Group are also available.
Australian Trade Commission [Austrade]
The Australian Government agency that helps Australian companies win overseas business for their products and services by reducing the time, cost and risk involved in selecting, entering and developing international markets.
World Integrated Trade Solution WITS [World Bank]
WITS gives you access to the major trade and tariffs data compilations. Individual registration is prerequisite to using the WITS software. WITS is a free software. However, access to databases themselves can be fee-charging or limited depending on your status.

Agriculture Market Access Database [AMAD]
AMAD is co-operative effort by Agriculture and AgriFood Canada, EU Commission - Agriculture Directorate-General, Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, The World Bank, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, United States Department of Agriculture - Economic Research Service. AMAD is the most comprehensive collection of available public data on WTO market access in agriculture. Data is in MS Excel / Access format. AMAD online is available to subscribers for free.
U.S. and International Trade Data [US Department of Commerce]
This official resource provides latest trade data and links to TradeStats Express.
Foreign Trade Statistics [US Census Bureau]
This official website gives comprehensive and latest foreign trade data and statistics by various commodity classification and country breakdown. US international trade balances going back as far as 1960.
Market Access Database [European Union]
This website allows non-member access to the Sectoral and Trade Barriers Database, which can be searched by country, sector and measure, and Statistical Tradeflow Database provides country-level data by commodity (HS4 and HS6). Data is available from 1996 and is exportable to MS Excel file.
International Data Tables [Bureau of Economic Analysis, US Department of Commerce]
The International Transaction Accounts provides 11 tables (sometimes 12) of economic data, including US trade in goods and US international transactions.
Source OECD
University of Sydney Library has subscribed to the Source OECD. The database Includes the full text of all OECD publications, such as OECD Economic Outlook, and OECD Economic Surveys. It also includes a range of OECD databases such as Main Economic Indicators, Main Industrial Indicators, National Accounts, Social Expenditure, Economic Outlook and many others.
