E-Reserve: what it is and how to use it
Some articles are made available online for specific subjects or units of study, especially for course readings. These are accessed via the Reserve module of the Library catalogue, under the Unit of Study or the Lecturer's name. If you are off-campus, make sure you read the information about off-campus access to Reserve articles.- Go to the Library Catalogue
- Click on the blue Reserve tab at the top
- Search by Unit of Study or click on Lecturer at the top
- Enter the information. For example:
Unit of Study - ENGG 1803, or Professional Engineering 1
Lecturer - McHugh, Paul
Other items however are made available online. Instead of a call number, they are marked Electronic item. To access them, click on the title and then click the link 'Connect to the full text article ...'
- More information about E-Reserve.
- Remember that you can access online articles from off-campus with proper authentication.
- If you are looking for a specific article from a reading list and it is not in E-Reserve, go to Looking up a journal article from a reading list.
- If you are simply looking for an article on your topic, go to the next section: Databases & what you need to know about them.
The next part of the tutorial is about databases in general
