Aviation Safety

Civil Aviation Safety Authority Australia The CASA site contains information about aviation safety, the aviation industry, certificates and other topics.
ASN Aviation Safety Network Database The Aviation Safety Network is a private, independent initiative founded in 1996. The database is updated every week and contains descriptions of over 10,000 airliner, military transport category aircraft and corporate jet aircraft safety occurrences since 1943.
Aviation Accident Database & Synopses The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) aviation accident database contains information from 1962 and later about civil aviation accidents and selected incidents within the United States.

NASA

NASA Technical Reports Server. The NTRS collects scientific and technical information from NASA's technical report servers and non-NASA sites. Click +Help for search tips.

STAR: Scientific and Technical Aerospace Reports. Some issues are available in pdf format for free (1995 and 1996 only). For other publications and dates, use NASA Technical Reports Server (above), or ask library staff for help.
NASA Scientific and Technical Information website
NASA Spacelink Aeronautics and Space Resource for Education. Offers a wide range of materials (computer text files, software, and graphics) related to the aeronautics and space program.
Jet Propulsion Lab is managed for NASA by the California Institute of Technology and undertakes the robotic exploration of the solar system. News, articles, images, projects, from space exploration to household electronics.
NASA Astrophysics Data System is a NASA-funded project which maintains four bibliographic databases containing more than 3.6 million records: Astronomy and Astrophysics, Instrumentation, Physics and Geophysics, and preprints in Astronomy. Search references or browse.
National Technical Information Service (U.S Dept. of Commerce) Search the NTIS catalogue for government publications and technical reports. Many but not all documents can be accessed for free.
