Search Engines and Subject Gateways for Engineering

Scirus, the search engine for science, focuses only on Web pages containing scientific content; locates university sites and finds reports and articles in an efficient manner.
Google Scholar searches scholarly information on the internet.

Please Note: Scirus and Google Scholar are free to search, but much of the material they find is not freely available without a subscription. By using the links to Scirus and Google Scholar on the Library website, and subsequently logging in to Remote Access when you are off-campus, you will be able to access the full text of articles in journals to which the Library subscribes.
TechXtra searches a combination of digital repositories, journal databases, technical reports servers, web information, news sources and more, all with a focus on technology information.
EEVL - Internet Guide for Engineering, Mathematics and Computing, links to quality UK and worldwide Internet resources, selected, evaluated, and classified by subject specialists.

Environet Maintained by the Australian Federal Department of Environment and Heritage, this site gives access to information in business and commerce, research and development, education, government and legislation, community initiatives and other areas.
Envalue The ENVALUE environmental valuation database, developed by the NSW EPA (Enviornmental Protection Agency) and first released in 1995, is a systematic collection of environmental valuation studies presented in an on-line database.
NSW Natural Resource Atlas - map, query and download environmental data. Information includes detailed satellite imagery, species identification keys and maps, daily water quality, vegetation maps and much more.
