English Guide
This subject guide is designed to provide students and staff of the University of Sydney with a starting point for locating English literature and language resources both on the WWW and within the Library. Because the English courses taught at the University of Sydney cover a wide gamut of choice - from Anglo-Saxon, Celtic and Middle Welsh studies through to twentieth century English, Australian and American literature - the resources listed here are arranged according to broad, general subject areas. Within these areas there are some sites which are quite specific - such as those dealing with a particular area - while other sites provide access to a wider range of Internet resources. Details of a selection of the print reference materials held in Fisher Library are also included.

Rare Books and Special Collections - provides a number of specialist English Literature collections, including 18th century literature, 19th century three-decker novels, Celtic studies, science fiction and detective fiction. Scholarly Electronic Text and Image Service (SETIS) - provides access to a large number of full text databases, primarily source texts within the humanities. |
