Directory of Women Philosophers
"The Directory of Women Philosophers was initiated in the early 1990's by the American Philosophical Association's Committee on the Status of Women. It was initially set up as a Paradox database which compiled information about women with Ph.D.'s or ABD's in philosophy. The directory was seen as way of using new information technologies for the benefit of philosophers, especially women job applicants, hiring officers and prospective students. In addition, such a resource was thought useful to philosophy departments looking for conference participants, guest speakers or visiting faculty, to external evaluators of tenure and promotion candidates, and to the evaluators of academic departments and programs."
