Index of Australian Parliamentary Reports in the University of Sydney Library

This is a listing of Australian (mainly Commonwealth and New South Wales) official reports held as monographs or as part of the Parliamentary Papers sets in the University of Sydney Library.

This is a partial list intended as a quick finding aid. Remember that printed listings by subject and chairperson appear in Borchardt's indexes, and these should be consulted if the report you seek is not found in this document. See the section entitled Indexes to Parliamentary Papers in the Guide Australian Government Publications for a list of call numbers for Borchardt's and similar works.

Borchardt's index ends with 1980. This list concentrates on reports dated 1981+ but also includes selected pre 1981 reports.

This listing is intended mainly to help you to find quickly the title of the report when only the chairperson's name is known. Time prevents the creation of a perfect record for every report because new copies may be added to the collection, or the parliamentary paper number may be absent because it is not available when the report is first listed here.

There are indexes to the reports tabled in the Commonwealth Parliament at:
Parliamentary papers and government reports. These will assist you in finding the parliamentary paper numbers if you are looking for current issues among the government documents at G.AUS/P on level 9 of Fisher Library.

If you need more information you should first check the Online Catalogue for up-to-date locations. If there is no parliamentary paper number listed in the index below, the online catalogue may give the required number, but if not, the best source is Australian government publications [microform] at R015.9409045 1 and the online indexes mentioned above.
Should you locate extra information, please let me know by sending an e-mail message to: r.penn@library.usyd.edu.au.

This is not intended to be a comprehensive listing but is composed mainly of reports that are newsworthy or likely to be asked about at the Information Desk. Please let me know if you find any omissions.

World Wide Web Access:

If you are reading the electronic version of this index, you will need to use the search facility of your browser to find the entry you need. For instance, with Netscape press Ctrl-f and type the search words, such as agent orange, or campbell.
