Westmead Millennium Institute The Centre for Virus research
The Centre for Virus Research (CVR) conducts basic research into herpes viruses (herpes simplex, varicella/chickenpox, cytomegalovirus) and HIV with the goal to translate this research into new medical treatments. New approaches to diagnostic tests, vaccines and gene therapy are being developed from this basic research. The Centre for Virus Research is part of the National Centre for HIV Virology Research. It is affiliated with both The University of Sydney and Westmead Hospital.
