Australia's most comprehensive and authoritative pharmaceutical database. MIMS is available to staff and students of the University. Password access is required for home access.
Rxlist
RxList was founded and is maintained by Neil Sandow, Pharm.D. an American Pharmacist. Search by generic or brand name, drug names, keywords, imprint codes, medical terminology or NDC code search. The site contains also information on alternative medicine (western herbs, homeopathics, and Chinese herbal remedies). Drug FAQs/Patient monographs section allows search for information on more than 4,500 popular drugs. The site incorporates the Taber's medical encyclopedia with more than 53,000 definitions.

Drugs, supplements and herbal Information. Includes the USP(United States Pharmacopeia) a guide to over 9,000 prescription and over the counter medications provided in the USP DI and Advice for Patient.

Medical Directory of Australia - CDROM access on PC Med 23 in the Medical Library and a copy (2003) is on the shelf in the Medical Library at R 610.9 14
The Directory consists of a number of sections. One section contains details about almost every doctor practicing in Australia, while others include a comprehensive list of hospitals and a list of Associations and Organisations.

Another NLM site DIRLINE focuses primarily on health and biomedical information resources ie.government agencies, professional societies, support groups, academic and research institutions, and research facilities. Records contain resource names, addresses, phone numbers, and descriptions of services, publications, and holdings, the majority of which are in the US.
