search history

This area records:
# the number of the search. The words used in the search and/or manipulations of the search. The number of hits per search. A link to a separate page of results displayed. The results of the last search however are displayed at the bottom of the main page.

saved searches Saving searches allows you to store search sets created during your current search session. You can then run this same search later without having to retype each search set manually. There are a number of save options:
Save temporarily (24 hours): Searches will be deleted automatically after 24 hours.
Save permanently: these remain indefinitely, or until you delete it yourself.
AutoAlert (SDI): SDI's are searches which are saved permanently for a particular database and are executed whenever that database is updated. When they are executed, newly-added documents which match search criteria are emailed to the designated recipient.
