Library Catalogue

The traditional use of a library catalogue is to find books and journals that are on the library shelves. But you can use our catalogue to find articles which appear on your reading list, and to access the full text of the articles electronically. Before you start, please refer to the information about off-campus access to Reserve articles. Not all articles are available in this way, for more information please see below.

Electronic Reserve or E-Reserve

Start by checking the Reserve module of the Library catalogue, under your Unit of Study or Lecturer's name.

If the article you want is not listed, try the method under Electronic Journals. You can also email us to request for the article to be placed into Electronic Reserve (the article must be on the reading list of your Unit of Study).

Electronic Journals

If your article is not in electronic reserve, it may be available from an electronic journal. In this case, you can still use the catalogue, searching under the journal title. Here is an example:

Madsen, Jana J.(2003),'From Benchmarking to Best Practices', Buildings, 97 (4), 42.

Follow these steps to find the full text:

If you cannot find the article you want, go to the next section about Electronic Databases.
