Project Management
Searching Web of Science
Open database
Web of Science only indexes refereed or peer-reviewed journals. It covers all areas of academic research: science, social sciences, arts & humanities. You can choose to search all three areas combined, or limit to one or two of them. Go to Databases for Project Management, find Web of Science on the list and click on the name. Click General Search, then select the part/s of Web of Science you wish to search and.
Search
Enter your search words into the TOPIC box. Remember to use 'and' to combine terms, 'or' for alternative terms. For more information, go back to the previous part of this tutorial, look at the Examples or use the help button in Web of Science. You may restrict your search, for example by language: English and document type: article. Click the SEARCH button.
Edit, refine, focus your search
Take a brief look at the results. Do the titles look relevant? Are there too many, or too few (see bottom of screen for the number of results)? You may need to edit your search. Click on the GENERAL SEARCH button at the top. Check your spelling. If you did not find enough articles, you could truncate your search term/s, for instance project* will find more results than projects. If you found too many, consider adding extra search terms, combining with and. Try using Refine your results, for instance by Subject Categories. Results
To see more details about an article, click on the article title. Below is an example; the SUMMARY button will return you to your list of results:
Find the full text of the article

Besides obtaining the full text of your article, you should also save, print or email the citation details. This will be needed for the bibliography in your assignment, and will save you time later. Click the MARK box, then click MARKED LIST at the top of the page. On the following page, under OUTPUT OPTIONS, step 2, click FORMAT TO PRINT, or SAVE TO FILE, or enter your email address and click E-Mail.The next part of the tutorial will look at Agile Project Management Online Resource Center.
