To retrieve items which contain more than one search term, and or or not can be used to combine terms.

Search retrieves too many items
A subject search on a particular sociologist or theorist may retrieve too many items. Use the catalogue limit function
limit a search to items containing a specific title or subject word or items published after a specific date. For example
- The subject heading Cities and towns retrieves 288 items and globalization 171 use the limit to narrow your search to items contating the subject heading Sociology or another appropriate term
